Dance costume

bonaI recently made a dress for a solo dance, created by Txell Prat.  I want to share the pictures of it.

We are both quite proud of it, as we co-created it. She had an idea of a kind of princess warrior, somehow inspired in comic middle age heroines. Of course, I had to simplify the concept, as  we would not spend a big budget in materials and dance needs easy movements.

As she performes a dragon that then transforms to warrior and finally to princess, it was difficult to sintetize. By using three different materials, we could give a sense of it : leather, sequin and viscose. The sequin was originally a skirt, and we transformed it in the corset look top.

The solo is called NIMUBÉ, and the première was last week in Area, a very well known dance studio in Gracia, Barcelona.
